Moondancer's  Herstory pt 3

Isn't he the cutest big bro?

Rai was 6 here and Willow was 2 1/2. This is right before she started cutting her own hair <rolls eyes>

Present day and still as full of love

Moving on from the non-human type animals, I want to introduce you to the two most amazing things in my life now. My son, Raistlin Grey Wolf, was born in 1999 after fifty four and a half hours of labor. I was so lucky to have so many friends that have become his extended family, many of which were there with me during those first days. He is truly a little wolf like his totem, more gentle and community minded then any little boy his age I have ever known. But beware ye bullies, for my little gentle boy has been known to turn fierce when the big kids try to push around those smaller then they are in his presence.

Get it out!  Get it out!  <grin>

Like me, Rai also has ADD, and he was able to be diagnosed and helped. He is a gentle and amazingly bright boy. He thrives at Math and Reading, and has an open hand of friendship always at the ready. Raistlin has a charm with, as well as respect for, the ladies that many men would do well to emulate. The death of Steve Erwin hit Rai hard. He dreamed of growing up and assisting in the fight to protect the animals and educate people about them. He is still dedicated to that idea and I am very proud of him for that. He is very much like the wolf totem that guides him, gentle and strong, full of energy and always ready to defend his friends.

What can I get into from way up here? Mmmmm meat. I'm making a break for it! Busted

Sooooo Tired.

We wasted no time immersing our first born into the gamer community. He attended his first convention at 7 weeks, and at six months was the apple in the eye of many a young scantly clad ladies at GenCon '99. It's amazing what an attractive women will let a baby get away with. <snicker>  Many an adult man wished they were him that weekend, heck if they were smart they'd wished to have been him all year. My son at nine is still not over his infatuation with girls, just now he knows about respect to go along with it.

Raistlin's first convention.

  Plattecon I think.

Raistlin as his namesake in a costume contest.

He won.

Nice barbarian maid, huh?

One of these pictures is after this woman caught my son sneaking his hand into her leather top. She thought it was cute, I was modified.

Rai was probably just hoping for some lunch.

The Nox woman said Rai was the first child all day that hadn't cried when they saw her. She thanked us profusely for bringing him. She said it made her feel better that he wasn't scared of her.

Here are some other great con moments for him.

Wiscon is always the most fun

Check out the fun Consuite decor

Rai and a friend get to meet Peter Woodword. He did a workshop about Egypt and it was fascinating. The fact he is easy on the eyes may have helped with that too, at least for mommy it did. <wink>

At about the point that we decided one child would be enough, the Goddess sent us a wake up call in the form of a little pink line on a pregnancy test. It took a few weeks to come to grips with being a mom again and not being ready for it, when I started bleeding on and off. I called my doctor several times, and the clinic said not to worry it was probably nothing.

The nothing turned out to be an entopic pregnancy. I was devastated and the doctors were less than sympathetic. After being treated like their were removing a pimple, they sent me up to the maternity ward to await my surgery. My baby was gone, and they sent me to the place where all these women were bringing their little ones into the world. The nurses in the labor and delivery unit were livid and I believe I heard some of the old nurses threatening bodily harm to the upstart doctor who sent me there. She hadn't even told the nurses what I was there for so they could prep me for surgery.

The doctor later on insisted I should forget about trying to get pregnant again, that one entopic was sure to lead to others. For days I felt the spirit of my little girl with me, and I knew at the moment she left my side she was waiting. Waiting for me to make her a new body, a strong body, she could return to me.

Four years after Rai was born (missed Rai's b'day by two weeks, nice birthday gift for big bro) we had our second child Willow Irene.

This time everything was okay

Six months and she's a SHE!
